About: This restaurant was an exceptional experience and exactly what I imagined a Nordic fine dining restaurant would be. The menu featured modern, beautifully executed dishes that were primarily fish- and plant-based, showcasing many traditional Finnish ingredients in creative and thoughtful ways. The venison tartare was a particular highlight—perfectly balanced and full of flavor—but every course was outstanding. The restaurant itself is set in a beautiful space with a warm, elegant atmosphere that enhanced the overall dining experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience contemporary Nordic cuisine at its best.

One of the standout dishes was the Steak Rydberg—perfectly cooked tender steak, crispy potatoes, and caramelized onions topped with a raw egg yolk that is mixed into the dish, creating a rich, hearty, and incredibly flavorful meal. The filet was cooked beautifully, and the fresh fish was equally impressive, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to quality ingredients and classic preparation. Strindberg far exceeded my expectations for traditional Finnish cuisine and is absolutely worth a visit if you’re looking for an authentic dining experience in Helsinki.
One word of warning: be prepared for the dark rye bread and house-made crackers. They’re served before the meal and are nearly impossible to stop eating after the first bite.
