What to order: Piglet belly and trotter
About: When 504 (New Orleans ) is in the 420 (Czech Republic), itβs easy to choose a first meal sitting outside in Prague with a view of the famous clock tower of Old Town Square. Inside is just as nice and a lot less crowded- where an old building meets modern kitchen, seating, and attitude. The food is Czech contemporary with full flavored extra strong goulash or rabbit made with mustard and curry. Other highlights were the duck pate with sweet bun and apple and sorrel dessert- not your average strudel. The chef definitely did not dial it in on this one.

What to order: Amuse Bouche
About: Can farm equipment look luxurious? Prepare to be amused by the sleek decor of this unique restaurant just off the bustling square in Prague. Tucked away on a quieter street than its little brother, Restaurant 420, Field offers a sophisticated palate to match the space decorated with, yes, pitchforks, shovels, and even a sickle on display. Three choices of a prix fixe menu allow you to choose the number of courses and time alloted to have them. We chose the mid range that included several amuse bouche and one extra course at 2.5 hours in duration. Enough to feel more than satisfied and also have time to walk over to the Charles bridge, stopping for an amazing view of the castle and river at night.

About: Ready to head east? Travel no further than New Town in Prague to this hotel restaurant, Zem. On the menu are fusion Japanese and Czech dishes that are each worth a try exploring. Japanese Izakaya such as edamame, pork dumplings, and tuna tartar are a great start, while truffled potatoes and cheese waffles bring in the more local flavors of Prague. The desserts are both inventive and delicious, and after you can explore the newer neighborhood that surrounds a medieval church.
